Gottfried von Einem (January 24 1918–July 12 1996) was an Austrian composer living in Germany. He is known in the main for his operas influenced by Stravinsky, Prokofiev and jazz. He was natural inside Bern, Switzerland as the boy of an Austrian diplomat personal. When his schooltime he attend Berlin, where he became répétiteur at the Berliner Philharmoniker. Since 1953 he lived mostly inside Vienna, however as well within Oberdürnbach, where he died within 1996. His boy, Caspar Einem, is presently a member of the Austrian parliament.
